WALKER COUNTY, Georgia - Friday, April 18,2008 - 10:30 am - Walker County
and West Brow Fire Departments were alerted of a house fire at 1370 Highway
157 on Lookout Mountain. Within minutes of the alarm, Walker County Engine 5
arrived on the scene and reported heavy smoke showing from a single story
residential structure. Firefighters quickly pulled and inch and 3/4 hose
line to start a primary attack. As crews were starting the attack, West Brow
Firefighters arrived with a supply tanker and additional man power.
The Primary attack was initiated through the
front door of the home and crews were extremely aggressive in finding the
seat of the fire. As additional fire equipment and manpower arrived, the
interior attack was making serious head way. Crews established a knockdown
stopping the fire in it's tracks.
There was not believed to have been
anybody home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported in
connection with the blaze. The interior of the home did sustain some smoke
damage, but due to the quick work of the fire crews fire damage was minimal.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
