HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn - Sunday, April 26,2009 - 6:30 pm - Highway 58
Volunteer Firefighters, Hamilton County EMS and units with Bradley County
EMS responded to a crash on Highway 60 just west of the Ooltewah-Georgetown
Road intersection. When rescuers arrived on the scene they reported a
motorcycle and a pickup truck had collided. Rescuers one person had been
fatally injured as a result of the crash and two people were critical. One
of those two people was a man that rescuers were performing trauma CPR on.
Unfortunately, there efforts were not met
with good results. After aggressively trying to save his live, he
unfortunately succumb to his injuries before he could be transported to the
hospital. The other victim a woman driving the pickup truck was flown by
Life Force air ambulance to Erlanger's Trauma Unit. Her injuries were also
believed critical, however they were not believed to be life threatening.
Witnesses at the scene say the pickup
truck crossed the center line into the lane of the motorcycle, causing the
brutal head on collision. Police officers with the Hamilton County Sheriffs
Department are investigating. Charges against the the woman are pending.
