DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Saturday, July 26,2008 - 7:30 pm - North Dade County
Fire Department and medics with Hutcheson EMS were dispatched to an accident
on Interstate 24 Westbound, near the Tennessee State Line. With in minutes,
the first rescue unit arrived on the scene and reported a single vehicle
rollover crash. That report also included information that four of the
occupants had been ejected from the vehicle.
Three children, ranging in age from 13 to
16, as well as their mother that had been driving were all ejected from the
full size Dodge pickup truck. Their injuries were all critical. Their father
was also a rider in the truck, however he was still in the passenger seat.
His injuries were serious. Emergency crews quickly worked to stabilize the
patients.
The three children were loaded into
ambulances and rushed to T. C. Thompson's Children's Hospital in
Chattanooga. The mother and father were also loaded into ambulances and
rushed to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. The cause of the crash is
still under investigation by State Patrol Officers.
