DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Saturday, August 9,2008 - 5:00pm - North Dade,
Trenton and New Home Fire Departments were dispatched with Hutcheson EMS to
an accident with injuries and entrapment on Slygo Road at Interstate 59.
Within minutes, a New Home unit and a North Dade unit arrived on scene and
gave a report of a rolled over vehicle, three people seriously injured and
two entrapped.Rescuers also quickly
called for an air ambulance to transport the critically injured patients.
Several additional rescue units arrived on the scene in short order.
Emergency crews worked quickly and safely to extricate the woman driver and
a male passenger, both were in critical condition. A third patient with very
serious head injuries had crawled free from the wreckage before rescuers
arrived.
The female driver was loaded onto the Life
Force air ambulance, while the other two patients were loaded into
ambulances. All three were take to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.
Witnesses said the passenger of the Ford
Explorer interfere with the driver causing the small SUV to roll and strike
another larger SUV before landing on it's top. Georgia State Patrol Officers
are investigating the crash.
