CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Saturday, January 1, 2011 - 2:00 pm - Emergency crews
with the City Of Chattanooga Fire Department rushed to the scene of an
accident on Highway 153 near Boyscout Road. Several reports described a very
serious crash with people entrapped in their vehicles. First rescuers on the
scene confirmed entrapment with serious injuries. Firefighters and EMS
workers quickly when to work to free the patient.
Several lanes were blocked for a short while
so rescuers could work the scene. Luckily the trapped were freed in short
order and loaded into a Hamilton County ambulance. City of Chattanooga
Police are investigating the scene to determine an exact cause, However
witnesses at the scene said the heavy rain in the area may have been a
factor.
Fortunately wreckers with R&D Wrecker
service were called to scene an quickly moved the wrecked vehicles and
cleared the debris.
