DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Thursday, January 22,2009 - 5:30 pm - Dade County
9-1-1 dispatched Georgia Forestry to the area of Duggan Loop and Veterans
Drive on a brush fire. Units arrived in the area in short order and reported
several acres involved. After working their way around it they found to have
nearly 75 acres actively involved with fire.
Forestry crews quickly worked a break around
the fire with a dozer and then started several back burns to control the
spread. After several hours of work Forestry units finally advised Dade
County the fire was contained. A cause of the fire has not yet been
determined.
