CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Saturday, June 21,2008 - 12:20 am - City of Chattanooga
Fire Department dispatched several engine companies to a reported structure
fire on Hickory Valley Road near the rail road tracks. When Chattanooga
Quint 8 arrived on the scene they reported a fully involved structure that
had already started collapsing. Crews quickly deployed several hand lines
for an exterior attack. Within
minutes, the additional companies arrived on scene and joined in the
knockdown. Unfortunately the fire was to far advanced to save the structure.
Several neighbors believed a man to be inside the house, however this was
quickly determined to be false.
Fire crews battled the fire for over 45
minutes before extinguishing the blaze. Luckily, nobody was injured in the
fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Hickory Valley
Road was shut down while crews worked the fire scene.
