House Fire In Lake Site Area‏

  MIDDLE VALLEY, Tenn - Tuesday, June 24,2008 - Dallas Bay Volunteer fire department and several mutual aid companies stop a house fire from burning to the ground. This morning at 8:55 am, a neighbor calls 9-1-1 reporting a house fire at 1835 Bay Hill Road (Lakesite area). Dallas Bay VFD responded and arrived on the scene reporting heavy fire coming from the back side of house and heavy smoke coming from the eaves on the front of the house. Chief Marcus Fritts, Dallas Bay VFD, requested a mutual aid response for additional manpower. Red Bank Fire Department, and Sequoyah Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene. According to the homeowner, Patricia Lombardo, had emptied her ashtray into the kitchen garbage before she left for work. The cause of the fire is undetermined but will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department. Chief Fritts reported the smoke detectors did activate when fire started in the house. Chief Fritts also confirmed the fire started in the kitchen. Damages are estimated at $30,000. Ms. Lambardo was insured and will be staying with friends. No injuries were reported but Hamilton County was on the scene for any potential injuries. Dallas Bay VFD was assisted by Red Bank Fire Department' Sequoyah VFD, Hamilton County EMS and Hamilton County Sheriff's Department.
