CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Thursday, July 28,2011 - 8:45 am - City of Chattanooga
Fire Department and Medics with Hamilton County EMS responded to a reported
accident with injuries on Derby Street at 4th Street. When rescuers arrived
on the scene they reported a two vehicle crash with injuries. Crews quickly
worked to assess and prepare several people for transport to the hospital.
Two Hamilton County ambulances transported
the patients to nearby hospitals. There injuries were not believed to be
life threatening. There is a stop sign on Derby Street at 4th Street,
however witnesses say one of the vehicles did not properly yield the right
of way. The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the City of
Chattanooga Police Department.
