DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Monday, May 24,2010 - 5:30pm -  North Dade County Firefighters and Medics with Life Guard EMS were dispatched to a crash with possible entrapment on Interstate 24 Eastbound near Mile Marker 169. When the first units arrived on the scene they quickly reported no entrapment, however they also reported a car had been struck by a tractor trailer. The woman driver of the car was already out of the vehicle laying in the median and was injured.

Rescuers quickly worked to package the woman and load her into an ambulance. The woman was transported to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the semi was uninjured in the crash.

The semi driver was not on the scene when rescuers first arrived, however he did return with his truck just moments later. The driver stated he wasn't sure what happen and didn't realize he had struck a car. Witnesses at the scene said the rear of the trailer completely ran the car over.
