LEEDS Alabama - Thursday July 15, 2010 - 4:50pm - Iron Dale and Leeds
Firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 600 Morgan Rd.
Iron Dale firefighters arrived on the scene in short order and reported
heavy involvement to a single story residential structure. Firefighters
immediately believed someone was still in the structure due to the fact
there was a car in the driveway. However they learned from neighbors the
house was vacant.
Leeds firefighters arrived on the scene
just moments after the Iron Dale firefighters. Together Iron Dale and Leeds
fire crews set up a defensive attack including a 2 and 1/2 inch hose line
connected to a master stream monitor. Meanwhile several other firefighters
established a primary water supply to feed firefighting operations. Crews
worked aggressively for over 2 hours to extinguish the blaze. Unfortunately
the vacant house was considered a total loss. There were no injuries
reported as a result of the fire.
