CATOOSA COUNTY, Georgia - Monday, May 5,2008 - 12:30 pm - Rescuers with
Catoosa County Fire Department and medics with Hutcheson EMS responded to an
accident on Catoosa Parkway near the Whitfield County Line. When emergency
crews arrived on the scene they found a car off the roadway against a tree.
The driver was already out of the vehicle, but the female passenger was
trapped inside.
Firefighters quickly went to work extricating the woman from the wreckage.
Within minutes the firefighters removed the roof of the vehicle and the
passengers door. Crews were then able to free the woman in short order. She
was swiftly loaded into an ambulance and rushed to the hospital. The cause
of the crash is still under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
