DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Tuesday, December 26, 2007 - 10:00 am - North Dade
County Fire Department was alerted of an accident on Interstate 59 near the
24 split. When rescuers arrived on the scene they found a vehicle had left
the roadway and overturned. The vehicle landed standing up against a tree.
The woman driver of the vehicle was quickly determined to be fatally
injured. The crash was spotted by
another firefighter with another Dade County Fire Department. That
firefighter was traveling south on I-59 when he spotted something in the
trees. He went back an checked the area, finding the crash. The crash was
believed to have happen some time earlier during a dense fog. The cause is
under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
