CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Wednesday, May 7,2008 - 10:00 pm - City of Chattanooga
Firefighters and medics with Hamilton County EMS responded to an accident on
East Brainerd Road at the intersection of Gunnbarrel Road. A crew with Quint
21 arrived on the scene quickly and determined they were going to have to
extricate one patient. Firefighters requested assistance from Squad 3 and 2
for extrication. Meanwhile, medics with Hamilton County EMS arrived on the
scene and started treating the patients.
City of Chattanooga Squad 3 arrived on the scene in short order, followed by
Squad 2. Rescuers quickly worked to free the trapped patient. The patients
were rushed to Erlanger Medical Center by Hamilton County EMS. The cause of
the crash is under investigation by the City of Chattanooga Police
Department. The intersection of Gunnbarrel and East Brainerd was blocked for
over an hour while crews worked the crash.
