CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Monday, June 16,2008 - 5:00 pm - Six people including a
Hamilton County Sheriffs Officer was transported by Hamilton County EMS to
Erlanger Medical Center with a variety of injuries, none of which were
believed to be life threatening after a growling crash at the intersection
of Jenkins Road and Bonnyoaks Drive. City of Chattanooga Firefighters and
medics with Hamilton County EMS responded to the scene along with police
officers from several agencies.
The afternoon crash left a van on it’s top as well as a police car also on
it’s top, several other vehicles were also damage in the crash. The aft noon
crash made rush hour traffic a nightmare as police officers started working
to sort out what happen. It is known that the police officer was responding
to a serious call, running his blue lights and siren when the crash
occurred. Traffic officers are working to determine the exact cause of the
crash.
