CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Saturday, June 7,2008 - 12:30 am - City of Chattanooga
Firefighters with Engine 15 and medics with Hamilton County EMS responded to
an accident with injuries in the 3400 block of Brainerd Road. When Engine 15
arrived on the scene, they reported an SUV had struck a building injuring
three people. EMS crews also arrived on the scene in short order.
Firefighters and medics worked together to package and load the three
patients into Hamilton County Ambulances.
The driver of the SUV stated he was traveling east through the Brainerd
tunnel when his brakes went out. The SUV left the roadway east of the tunnel
in a curve and struck the side of a building. The driver and passenger of
the vehicle escaped injury in the crash, however, the three young men that
were in the back seat were thrown into the top of the vehicle. All three men
sustained head and face injuries. The three men were transported to Erlanger
Medical Center.
