DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Monday, June 9,2008 - 5:00 pm - After firefighter
were already taxed from battling a structure fire, and alert was dispatched
for a car fire on Interstate 59 Northbound just two miles from the fire
scene. Two fire crews quickly loaded up and rushed to the scene of the car
fire. When the first crew arrived, they reported a fully involved car fire.
Within seconds, additional manpower arrived on the scene. Firefighters used
an inch and ¾ hose line to make a blitz attack on the car fire, quickly
gaining and aggressive knockdown. Firefighter extinguished the fire within
minutes. Interstate 59 was shut down for a short time due to the fire. The
cause of the fire is still under investigation.
