Dade County Firefighters Battle A Blaze At The Hang Glider Field

  DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Monday, June 22,2009 - 2:25 am - North Dade and Trenton Fire Departments were alerted of a structure fire on Creek Road at the Flight Park Landing Zone. Within minutes, North Dade Engine 4 arrived on the scene under the command of Captain John Pangle. Captain Pangle immediately reported to structures fully involved. Within seconds, crews with the Trenton Fire Department arrived on the scene and crews quickly started an aggressive attack on the fire.

Crews on the scene quickly called for assistance from the New Home Fire department. Meanwhile other firefighters quickly worked to stop the fire from traveling as it was impinging on another building. Quick work on behalf of the firefighters saved that structure and several others that were nearby. It took several hours to completely extinguish the fire. The exact cause is still under investigation, however authorities do believe there was foul play involved.

Dade County Investigators do have a suspect in custody, however the investigation is ongoing.
