FORT OGLETHORPE, Georgia - Saturday, March 29,2008 - 11:00 am - Fort
Oglethorpe Firefighters with Station 8 and medics with Hutcheson EMS
responded to an accident with injuries on Boynton Drive near the
intersection of Baggett Road. Before rescuers arrived on the scene they were
informed that callers were reporting an overturned vehicle with entrapment.
When emergency crews arrived on the scene they confirmed a vehicle was on
it's top in the creek beside Boynton Drive.
Firefighters and medics were able to quickly
and safely remove all three of the patients without further injury. The
mother appeared to only have some minor injuries. The two children had a
variety of injuries, none of which appeared life threatening. Medics
transported the mother to Erlanger medical Center and the two children to T.
C. Thompson's Children's Hospital.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating
the crash, although witnesses said the rain may have contributed. Catoosa
County Sheriffs officers assisted with traffic control.
