WALKER COUNTY, Georgia - Friday, March 13,2009 - 6:00 pm - Firefighters and
first responders with Walker County Emergency Services were called to an
accident with injuries and entrapment on Highway 193 at 2A. Walker County
Rescue 2 arrived on the scene first and reported a two vehicle crash with 5
patients and entrapment. Crews quickly went to work trying to free the
trapped patient in the car. Meanwhile additional crews arrived on the scene
and started treating and packaging the other patients.
Command called for two additional ambulances
to assist with transporting the injured occupants to the hospital. In short
order the trapped person was freed and all the patients were loaded into
ambulances. All of the patients were transported to Erlanger Medical Center
in Chattanooga. Two of those patients were believed to be in critical
condition. The cause of the crash is under investigation by Georgia State
Patrol Officers.
