DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Sunday, March 15,2009 - 11:00 pm - West Brow and New
Salem Firefighters were alerted of a structure fire on Scenic Highway near
the West Brow Fire Station. Within minutes several fire units from both
departments were responding. Moments later the first unit arrived on the
scene and reported a working fire with smoke showing from a single story
residential structure.Firefighters
quickly pulled an inch and 3/4 hose line and started an attack on the fire
that was already breaking through the roof over the carport of the home.
crews immediately made access to the attack of the house were the seat of
the fire was. In short order the fire crews had made an aggressive save on
the house, knocking the fire out and saving the entire living area.
The homeowners were at home at the time of
the fire and noticed the fire in its early stage. The homeowner quickly
called the fire department and got everybody out of the house. The cause of
the fire is still under investigation and the damages were minimal. North
Dade Fire Department, Life Guard EMS and the Dade County Sheriffs Department
assisted at the scene.
