EAST RIDGE, Tenn - Sunday, November 9,2008 - 2:00 am - East Ridge Fire
Department were dispatched to an accident with injuries on South Seminole,
just off of Ringgold Road. The first unit to arrive on scene, reported a
head on crash with several injured, two with very serious head injuries.
That unit also reported one of the vehicles was on fire. With in minutes,
med units and additional firefighters arrived on the scene.
Firefighters quickly pulled an inch and 3/4
hose line and started extinguishing the car fire. Meanwhile, other rescuers
quickly packaged and loaded 5 patients into three ambulances. Two of the
patients were rushed to Erlanger Medical Center in critical condition. The
other three were serious, but stable. They were also taken to Erlanger
Medical Center. One of those three patients was believed to be a child.
City of East Ridge Police are
investigating the cause of the crash.
