CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Wednesday, November 4,2009 - 7:00 pm - Emergency crews
with the Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department and Hamilton County EMS
rushed to a reported semi truck crash on Interstate 75 Northbound at the 11
Mile Marker. Emergency crews were on the scene within minutes and started
assessing the injuries. Units reported two passenger cars and a semi tractor
trailer involved in the crash.Three
people were injured including the driver of the semi tractor trailer. The
truck driver was believed to be in very serious condition, the other two
people were believed to be in stable condition. All three were transported
by Hamilton County EMS to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.
Tri-Community Firefighters did have to extricate two of the victims, both
were still in the vehicles when they arrived on the scene.
The semi was loaded with frozen pizzas
when it crashed. Luckily the load was all still in tacked making things just
a little easier for the wrecker crews to clean up. The northbound lanes of
Interstate 75 were completely shut down for several hours due to the crash.
The cause is still under investigation by the City Of Chattanooga Police.
