ROSSVILLE, Georgia - Thursday, November 26, 2009, 10:30 PM - Rossville
Firefighters and medics with Walker County Emergency Services responded to a
crash on Lafayette Road in front of the Bi-Lo in Rossville. When the first
unit arrived on the scene they reported a single vehicle had struck a power
pole and the driver was still in the car. Rescuers immediately started
working with the driver, almost immediately they realized they would need to
use the Jaws of Life to free the woman from the wreckage.
Firefighters worked quickly to free the
driver and within minutes they had completed the task. With the woman free,
medics loaded her on a backboard and into an ambulance. She was transported
to the hospital in stable condition. The cause of the crash is still under
investigation.
