WALKER COUNTY, Georgia - Thursday, October 6,2011 - 4:30 pm - Walker County
Fire Crews were dispatched to a reported house fire on Fine Street, off of
Mission Ridge Road. In short order several fire companies were on the scene,
lead first by Walker Engine 7. Crews quickly confirmed a fully involved
residential structure fire with an exposure also starting to burn. The
exposure was a neighbors house, firefighters immediately started attacking
the blaze. Crews were able to
rapidly pt out the neighbors house as the fire had only just started burning
it when crews arrived, however the original home where the fire started was
a different story. The fire spread through that home fast and crews had a
task ahead of them getting it under control. Luckily there was nobody home
when the fire broke out so that was one major concern the fire crews did not
have to be worried about.
Firefighters were finally able to gain a
knock down after almost 2 hours of heavy firefighting. Unfortunately the
home was a total loss.
