DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Saturday, November 12,2011 - 4:30 am - Davis Fire
Department and the Trenton Fire Department were both alerted With medics
from Life Guard EMS of crash on Highway 136 West near Bethune's Nursery.
When the first emergency crew arrived on the scene they reported and
overturned semi tractor trailer. Emergency workers quickly started tending
to the driver of the semi and his injuries. The driver was loaded into an
ambulance and transported to Erlanger Medical Center with what was believed
to be minor injuries.Meanwhile,
firefighters started working to stop the fuel and hydraulic fluid from
leaking from the wreckage. Officers at the scene called for large wreckers
to up right the wreckage and clean up the nearly 6 tons o coal ash that had
spilled out of the trailer when it flipped over. Bryson's Wrecker Service
was dispatched to the scene for the recovery and clean up and in short order
there first wrecker arrived on the scene.
Crews worker continually with a Bobcat and
shovels to clean up the coal ash and then carry it off with a dump truck.
Wreckers were able to start up righting the wreckage just after 7:30 am and
completely had the road cleared by 9:00 am. Georgia State Patrol is
investigating the crash.
