DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Wednesday, November 9,2011 - 10:20 pm - Davis Fire
Department and the Trenton Fire Department were both alerted of a house fire
on Highway 89 near the Alabama State Line. Both departments responded with
several engine companies to the scene. Within just minutes, the first Davis
Engine arrived on the scene. That crew reported a single story residential
structure with heavy involvement and flames through the roof. Firefighters
quickly started pulling and inch and 3/4 hose line from the engine and
immediately mounted a primary attack on the fire.
Several additional companies arrived on the
scene in short order. The additional fire crews assisted in the fire attack
with additional hose lines. Firefighters did have a concern for a large
Propane tank near the structure, but crews quickly moved in with a hose line
and kept the tank cool during the attack. Within just a short time the fire
was knocked down, unfortunately the rear potion of the home had sustain
extreme damage. However the fast work of the firefighters did stop the fire
in it's tracks. Luckily nobody was injured as a result of the blaze.
Medics with Life Guard EMS were on stand
by at the scene for safety and Dade County Sheriffs officers also assisted
at the scene.
