One Person Fatally Injured In A Chattanooga Crash

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Wednesday, October 1,2008 - 10:40am - Emergency crews with the City Of Chattanooga Fire Department and Hamilton County EMS rushed to a crash in the 2300 Block of Gunbarrel Road, near the intersection of Summertown CT.

City of Chattanooga Firefighters were on the scene within minutes and reported one of the vehicles to be on fire. Firefighters quickly pulled hose lines and tried to douse the blaze. Unfortunately, the driver had already succumb to the incident.

According to witnesses, a Porsche driven by 53-yr-old Dennis Mynatt crossed the center line and struck an on-coming vehicle. The impact spun the Porsche into an adjacent field where the car ignited in flames. Mynatt was trapped inside the vehicle and was unable to free himself.

No one else was injured in the incident. It is unknown what caused the car to ignite. No charges will be filed in this accident.
