CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Friday, October 3,2008 - 2:00 pm - Firefighters and
emergency personnel with the Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department and
Hamilton County EMS rushed to the scene of a reported semi rollover with
entrapment on Interstate 75 Northbound around the 12 mile marker. Went
rescuers arrived on the scene they reported the driver was out of the
wreckage and although the semi was a large pile of twisted debris, it was
not rolled over.Rescuers quickly
packaged the driver and loaded him into a Hamilton County ambulance. He was
rushed to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga with several injuries. No
one else was traveling in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The exact
cause of the crash is still under investigation by the City Of Chattanooga
Police Department.
A wrecker crew from Doug Yates Wrecker
service was called to the scene to recover the wreckage and clean up the
debris. The wrecker crew worked for several hours clearing the wreckage, but
near had to shut down any lanes of traffic during the operation.
