CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Tuesday, October 7,2008 - 5:30 pm - City of Chattanooga
Firefighters and medics with Hamilton County EMS responded to a reported
accident on Interstate 24 Eastbound at the Highway 27 Interchange. Fire
crews with Engine 20 and Squad 1 were on the scene within minutes, followed
by medics with Hamilton County Medic 10.
When units arrived on the scene they reported
a car on it's top and one male patient sitting outside the car against the
wall. Several people had stopped to help, one of them appeared to be a nurse
trying to assist the man. Emergency personnel quickly took over care when
they arrived.
The man was loaded into an ambulance and
rushed to Erlanger Medical Center. The crash is under investigation by City
of Chattanooga Police.
