CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Wednesday, August 20,2008 - 5:30 pm - City Of
Chattanooga Firefighters and Medics with Hamilton County EMS were dispatched
to an accident with entrapment on Highway 153 at Hamill Road. When
firefighters and medics arrived on the scene they reported two, possibly
three patients and one entrapped.
EMS crews worked with the patients while firefighters started extricating
the trapped passenger of the car. The driver of the car was quickly freed
and loaded into an ambulance. The driver of the semi sustained some injuries
but refused to be transported. The passenger of the car was freed after
about 20 minutes and also loaded into an ambulance.
Both of the patients were taken to
Erlanger Medical Center with serious injuries. The cause of the crash is
still under investigation by the City Of Chattanooga Police Department.
