NORTH DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Saturday, August 30,2008 - 9:00 am - North Dade
County Firefighters conducted a training burn on a house that was donated to
the department for this type of training. Crews spent the morning preparing
and drilling on the house before finally letting it burn completely down.
Unfortunately, firefighters do not get this
opportunity often enough so this operation was was very beneficial to train
under controlled circumstances. Fire behavior and proper knock down
techniques were all part of the training. Several new recruits were given
the chance to see what and how a real fire is handled.
