CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Sunday, August 17,2008 - 12:00 pm - City of Chattanooga
Firefighters and medics with Hamilton County EMS rushed to the scene of a
crash in the 2500 block of Gunnbarrel Road. When rescuers arrived they
reported a near head on collision with one vehicle on it's side. Emergency
workers also reported one person trapped in the pickup truck that had
rolled.Firefighters worked quickly
to cut the roof off the truck and extricate the trapped driver. Meanwhile,
other rescuers and EMS personnel started treating the other patients. crews
packaged and loaded the patients into two Hamilton County EMS units and
rushed them to Erlanger Medical Center with a variety of injuries.
Gunnbarrel Road was completely blocked by
the crash and traffic had to be rerouted for some time. The cause of the
crash is under investigation by the City of Chattanooga Police.
