CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Saturday, September 13,2008 - 7:30 am - City of
Chattanooga Firefighters and medics with Hamilton County EMS rushed to the
scene of a crash at the intersection of Shallowford Road and Jersey Pike.
When rescuers arrived they reported a two vehicle crash with very heavy
damage and two people injured. One of the drivers was trapped inside of her
car.Rescuers quickly started
working to free the woman while other rescuers started packaging the other
driver. Both patients were eventually loaded into two Hamilton County
ambulances and rushed to Erlanger Medical Center in critical condition.
The cause of the crash is still under
investigation by the City of Chattanooga Police Department. Traffic in the
area had to be rerouted for over an hour due to the crash.
