CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Thursday, September 25,2008 - 1:30pm - City Of
Chattanooga Firefighters and medics with Hamilton County EMS responded to an
accident at the intersection of Brainerd Road and Moore Road. When rescuers
arrived on the scene they reported a motorcyclist was trapped under an SUV.
Rescuers quickly worked to try and free the
driver of the motorcycle, unfortunately he had already succumb to his
injuries. The driver of the SUV was uninjured in the crash. The intersection
was completely shut down for some time while rescuers and police worked the
scene.
Witnesses at the scene stated the Chevy
Tahoe was preparing to make an eastbound turn from Moore Rd to Brainerd Rd
when it collided with the motorcycle. Another witness stated that the
motorcycle, which was travelling northbound on Moore Rd, sped up to make it
through the intersection when it collided with the Tahoe. The motorcyclist,
Walter Lee Henry, was pronounced dead on the scene.
