DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Sunday, September 28,2008 - 12:45 am - South Dade
Firefighters were alerted of a fully involved car fire on interstate 59
Northbound between the 6 and 7 mile marker. Within minutes, Firefighters
arrived on the scene quickly pulling an inch and 3/4 hose off the engine.
Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the
blaze knocking the flames down in minutes. crews were initially concerned as
to whether there had been anyone inside the car. Luckily after a few tense
moments firefighters determined the car was empty.
Traffic was stopped northbound for just a
few minutes, but was quickly restored. The driver of the vehicle was not
readily located and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
