WALKER COUNTY, Georgia - Sunday, September 28,2008 - 6:45 pm - Walker County
Firefighters were called to a structure fire on Highway 157 at Hawkins Ave.
Went the first Walker County Fire Engine arrived on the scene they reported
a structure fully involved and requested a mutual aid response from the New
Salem Fire Department in Dade County Georgia.
Meanwhile, fire crews from Walker County
started a primary attack with two inch and 3/4 hose lines. In short order
several additional companies arrived on scene including a tanker and engine
from New Salem. Firefighters worked together to gain a knock down on the
blaze. Unfortunately the trailer was already to far gone to save.
There were no injuries in the fire and the
cause is still under investigation. Nobody was living in the trailer at the
time of the fire.
