DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Friday, March 19,2010 - 5:45pm - North Dade County
Fire Department and local medics were called to a motor vehicle accident
with injuries on Highway 11 North at Highway 299. Within seconds of the
call, North Dade Fire had two units enroute to the scene. North Dade Rescue
4 was first to arrive on the scene, unit 402 took command and reported a two
car crash with one vehicle off the roadway. Moments latter North Dade Engine
4 arrived. Firefighters quickly started checking and assessing injuries.
Two Children in the small white car appeared to be shaken up, and one did
show some signs of a possible minor injury, however the father said he would
take him to the hospital himself. The two people in the other car were
elderly, however uninjured in the crash. The local medic unit arrived on the
scene and also checked the parties involved, medics then had them sign
refusals.
Dade County Sheriffs Officers did an amazing job keeping traffic moving
safely, There was a small back up however not nearly what it could have
been. The exact cause of the crash is under investigation by the Georgia
State Patrol, however the driver of the white car said he was traveling
south on Highway 11, when the blue car pulled out in front of him off of
Highway 299.
