BRADLEY COUNTY, Tenn - Thursday, April 15, 2010 – 3:45pm - Bradley County
EMS responded to I-75 at the 24 mile-marker northbound, to a reported crash
involving for an SUV and an 18-wheeler.
Stan Clark, PIO Bradley County EMS, says for some yet unknown reason a
Nissan Frontier SUV had slammed into the rear of an 18-wheeler that was in
the emergency lane along the interstate. The SUV left no skid marks.
The critically injured 21-year-old driver was the only occupant of the
Nissan. A Life Force medical helicopter was called to the scene and landed
on the highway but because of the victim's deteriorating condition, he was
transported to Sky Ridge Medical Center for more immediate care and then
airlifted to the Erlanger emergency room.
Clark says, "Our EMS personnel and first responders did an outstanding job.
This was a horrific accident. The SUV was completely obliterated."
