CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Thursday, January 7,2010 - 2:30 pm - City Of Chattanooga
Firefighters and medics with Hamilton County EMS were dispatched to an
accident with injuries and possible entrapment in the 2200 block of Dodd's
Avenue. Within seconds the first unit was on the scene and corrected the
location as the 2300 block of Dodd's Avenue, at the intersection of 23rd
Street.In short order, Firefighters
and medics were working together to free the driver of a car that had struck
the power pole nearly head on. The driver was seriously injured, but stable
as crews freed him from the wreckage. He was quickly packaged, loaded into
an ambulance and rushed to Erlanger Medical Center by medics with Hamilton
County EMS.
It was raining and the roadway was wet at
the time of the crash, however the exact cause of the crash is not known and
is under investigation by the City of Chattanooga Police Department.
