DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Wednesday, February 3,2010 - 6:30 pm - A Life Guard
EMS unit that was returning to Trenton On Interstate 59 Southbound,
spotted smoke coming from a vehicle on the shoulder of the northbound lanes
around the 16 mile marker. That medic unit quickly advised Dade County 9-1-1
to dispatch additional rescue units to the scene of the crash. Trenton Fire
and North Dade Fire Departments were immediately alerted.
Within seconds, The medic unit notified
dispatch that there was only one person in a pickup truck that was
overturned, that person was the driver. The Life Guard medic unit also
advised dispatch the the person had already succumb to his injuries. One
lane of Interstate 59 was shut down due to the crash. The exact cause of the
crash is under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
