RED BANK FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE A MORNING STRUCTURE
FIRE
Saturday, December 10,2005 - 5:30 am -
City of Red Bank Fire Department received multiple 9-1-1 calls about a house
fire at 511 Marlow Drive in Red Bank, Tennessee. Several engine companies
were immediately dispatched to the scene. The first arriving fire company
confirmed a working fire with heavy involvement to the rear and attic of the
house. It was quickly evident that the fire had already gotten a large jump
on the firefighters.
Red Bank Firefighters started several
interior attacks on the blaze in an effort to gain control of the fire.
Within seconds the incident commander called for an additional assignment
from nearby fire departments. This brought several additional engine
companies from the Soddy Daisy Fire Department and the Walden's Ridge Fire
Department to the scene of the fire.
With the extra help arriving on the
scene Red Bank Fire crews were able to get a leap on the progression of the
fire and bring it under control. Unfortunately the house had already
sustained some major damage, but due to the quick and aggressive work of the
Red Bank Firefighters the house was not totally destroyed.
Four adults were at home asleep when the
fire broke out. Luckily they all made it out of the house without injury. A
cause of the fire is still under investigation.
