DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Tuesday, October 13,2009 - 8:30am - North Dade
Firefighters, Trenton Firefighters and medics with Life Guard EMS were
dispatched to an accident with possible entrapment on interstate 24
Eastbound, just east of the 59 split. Within minutes, the first rescue units
arrived on the scene and confirmed three people injured and two of those
were trapped.North Dade Rescue 4,
under the command of Captain John Pangle, quickly started setting up to
extricate. Trenton Engine 1 arrived and that crew immediately went to work
assisting with the extrication. Meanwhile medics started treating the
patients, the one person that was not trapped was quickly loaded into an
ambulance.
In short order the two trapped patients
were freed and crews quickly and swiftly loaded them into ambulances as
well. All the patients were transported to Erlanger Medical Center, there
conditions are not known, but also not believed to be life threatening.
The cause of the crash is under
investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
