SUV Rolls Into The Median Off Interstate 24

DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Sunday, September 26,2010 - 12:30 pm - North Dade Fire Department, Trenton Fire Department and Life Guard EMS were dispatched to an accident with entrapment and rollover on I-24 Eastbound between the Interstate 59 split an exit 169. Almost immediately several emergency crews were responding, however the first to arrive on scene was the Life Guard medic unit. In short order behind them, a Trenton fire unit arrived on scene and reported a vehicle on its side in the median.

Both the driver and passenger had climbed out of the wreckage. Both were walking and appeared alert, however the passenger appeared to be very shaken. Both of them also had several minor scraps and bruises. In any case they also refused to be transported to the hospital. Medics did check both of them out before allowing them to sign a refusal. The driver and passenger are husband and wife and were traveling from Alabama to Chattanooga.

A witness at the scene said the SUV flipped several times before landing on it's side. The witness said she was not exactly sure why the SUV left the roadway just prior to flipping. Georgia state Patrol is investigating the crash.
