CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Thursday, September 23, 2010 – 6:00 am – City Of
Chattanooga Police responded with Hamilton County Medics and Chattanooga
Firefighters to a crash involving a semi tractor trailer on Highway 27 near
4th Street. In short order, rescuers were on the scene and reported the
trailer of a semi turned over, blocking all the Northbound lanes. Luckily
the driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.
The semi tractor was pulling a trailer with
one large roll of steel, witnesses said when the semi rounded the curve the
trailer and roll fell over on its side. It took about three hours for crews
to clean up the wreckage. Traffic on Highway 27 North had to be detoured
through downtown Chattanooga while the crash was being cleared.
