North Dade Rolls In On A Fully Involved SUV Fire

  DADE COUNTY, Georgia - Monday, September 20,2010 - 5:21am - North Dade County Fire Department was alerted of a vehicle fire in the area of 1810 Highway 299, near the intersection of Slygo Road. Within minutes, a Dade County Sheriffs Officer was on the scene and reported a full size SUV fully involved. In short order, North Dade Engine 4 and Tanker 4 were arriving on the scene.

Assist Chief Chris Lowrance quickly set up command and started a primary attack with an inch and 3/4 hose line. Within a matter of minutes, the flames were subsiding and the North Dade Fire Crew was showing a knockdown. Captain John Pangle and Rookie Firefighter Jonathan Pangle Continued knocking down hot spots until the fire was completely out.

Luckily nobody was injured in the fire, however Highway 299 was shut down for a short time due to the blaze. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation, The SUV was totally destroyed.
