CATOOSA COUNTY, Georgia - Saturday, September 25,2010 - 8:30 pm - Catoosa
Engine 3 and medics with Angel EMS responded to a reported crash with
injuries at the intersection of Graysville Road and Swanson Road, near the
Railroad tracks. Within minutes, Catoosa Engine 3 was on the scene and
reported a single vehicle crash that was off the roadway. Engine 3's crew
quickly started checking for injuries and relayed to the incoming medic unit
that they had one person injured.In
short order, the Angel EMS crew arrived on the scene and quickly joined the
fire crew with loading the one patient, an older gentleman that was driving,
onto a back board. The rescuers than had to carry the man up an embankment
and back over the guardrail. The man was loaded into an ambulance and taken
to Erlanger Medical Center. His injuries were believed to be minor.
Traffic on Graysville Road was blocked for
a short time due to the crash. Witnesses said the crash occurred when the
man tried to avoid another collision as a car in front of him was stopping
for a stop sign. Witnesses said the pickup truck swerved and then slid off
the right shoulder and hit head on with the ditch. Georgia State Patrol is
investigating.
