Early Morning Semi Truck Crash Injures One
CHATTANOOGA, TN - Wednesday, May 31,2006
- 5:30 am - City of Chattanooga Fire Department dispatched several units to
an accident involving a semi tractor trailer on Highway 27 Southbound at the
I-24 Eastbound ramp. When the first emergency crew arrived on the scene they
found an over turned tractor trailer. The driver of the truck sustained some
injuries in the crash. Paramedics with Hamilton County EMS loaded the driver
into an ambulance and transported him to Erlanger Medical Center.
The semi tractor trailer turned over as
it was making the curve on the entrance ramp. The truck was loaded with
large rolls of steel. Several large wreckers had to be called to upright the
truck and move the large rolls of steel. Luckily the wreckage was completely
cleaned up and traffic restored by 10:00 am.
