FORT OGLETHORPE, Georgia - Thursday, April 5,2007 - 2:15 pm - Fort
Oglethorpe Stations 1 and 8 were alerted with several medic units from
Angels and Hutcheson EMS of an accident with injuries and entrapment
involving a child at the intersection of Boynton Drive and Burning Bush
Road. When the first unit arrived on the scene, they reported one vehicle on
it's top and another with front end damage. After a quick check they also
reported there was no entrapment and everybody was out of their vehicles.
Several additional rescue crews arrived on
the scene within minutes. Paramedics quickly checked on the occupants of the
vehicles and after determining their were no other injuries rescuers loaded
one child into and ambulance. The child was riding in the back seat of the
SUV and had some difficulty getting out of the overturned vehicle. Luckily
the child's injuries were believed to be minor in nature.
Most of the emergency crews all went back
in service after finding out there was only one minor injury. Officers with
the Georgia State Patrol are investigating the cause of the crash.
