CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - September 29,2007 - 3:45 pm - City of Chattanooga
Firefighters rushed to the scene of a reported serious crash on Interstate
75 Southbound, just past the East Brainerd Road exit. 9-1-1 callers reported
five vehicles involved and one vehicle on it's top with possible entrapment.
Fire crews arrived on the scene within
minutes and determined there were no injuries, no entrapment and non of the
vehicles were flipped over. However, this situation is more common then we
know. A large number of callers tend to over exaggerate their reports when
calling 9-1-1.
Witnesses said there was one car driving
reckless and started riding against the retainer wall. Witnesses said then
he collided with another vehicle in the rear. As his vehicle came to rest on
the opposite shoulder, witnesses said he jumped out and ran. An off duty
police officer and another person that stopped quickly chased the man down
and brought him back to the crash scene.
